The picture speaks for itself really with its bold orchid prints, wicker furniture and vividly coloured bird. If you haven't guessed already the upcoming interior trend is going to be tropical.
I'm not always a fan of what interior designers come up with, but this time I do actually find the tropical prints quite appealing if done correctly - It can turn any plain home into almost a Hawaiian holiday home. I guess the big mistake here would be to go OTT with garish wallpaper and just too much colours, patterns and everything chucked around willy-nilly. The best way to pull this look off for any room would be to opt for a neutral colour on your walls so then you can get away with all the wonderfully cheerful and contemporary colour palettes in your curtains to your scatter cushions etc.
It's clear to me that the striking colour palette is taken from the nature, from the sea to the skies everything is more vibrantly coloured than anywhere non-tropical - especially England :)
Here are some of my favourite home items which I have found on my internet travels.
1) Hummingbird & Orchid Cushions - £40 each LauraAshley.com
These cushions may be a little dear, but anything so delicately embroidered is definitely worth the extra pounds. They will look brilliant anywhere in the home, from living room to bedroom and will give it an injection of colour.
2) Woven throws - £25 each Ebay
Laura Ashley cushions + Lovely fringed throws = Match made in heaven.
Will look perfect on any sofa or bed. They do come in many different colours but I have picked these three to tie in with the tropical colour scheme.
3) Artificial 6ft Palm - £118 Whitestores.co.uk
It is quintessentially tropical... it just wouldn't be the same without a palm. I think it would look the part if paired with some rattan chairs :) Now go get me a Pina colada!
4) Palm Tree Prints - Set Of 3 £10 Etsy
More palm trees? Yes please. The good thing about these is that you can have them customised, so you can have the pastel colours transformed into more vivid hues to fit in with your brand new throws and cushions.
5) Antique Victorian Hummingbird Engraved Print - £38 Etsy
If you think the palm tree prints are a little too contemporary for your taste then why not go for something a little different.
This rare print is taken from France's Jardine's Naturalist Library circa 1833, so if you're more of an antiques person then opt for this instead. Other than the hairy-legged hummingbird of Tobago - there are other bird species available to add to your wall - you just need to find a nice frame to put it in.
6) Flamant Caribbean Hammock Chair Including cushions - £141 Occa-Home.com
I don't know if this one is for the bedroom, but I can definitely see in in a living room or in a conservatory. I can just imagine myself chilling out on it with a good book. Did I mention I want a pina colada?
7) Rattan Camille Armchair - £132 Tikamoon.co.uk
Rattan furniture just screams tropical, anyone will feel totally relaxed just reclining in their new rattan armchair with a palm by its side.
